The UPSC IFS 2017 (Preliminary) will be held as per following schedule

1. Online registration starts from: 23.04.2017

2. Submission of registration fee through e-challan starts from: 23.04.2017

3. Last date of online registration: 20.05.2017

4. Last date for Submission of registration fee through e-challan: 20.05.2017

UPSC Indian Forest Service 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects:

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering.

The Degree should be granted from of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.


UPSC Indian Forest Service 2017 Application Form

Candidates are required to apply online application form from the official website www.upsconline.nic.in . After successfully submission of application form, candidates need to take print out of duly filled application form for future references.

Application Fee:

Candidates applying (excepting Female/ SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card. Applicants who opt for "Pay by Cash" mode should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.


UPSC IFS 2017 Selection Procedure

Indian Forest Service Examination consist of two stages i.e. preliminary and main exam. The civil services (preliminary) examination (objective type) will be held for the screening and selection of the candidates for Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. After passing preliminary exam you will go through Indian Forest Service (Main Examination which consists written test and interview.

Negative Marks: For each wrong answers,you will be get 1/3 loose of your total marks. So be careful while giving the exam. Choose only that answer which you are sure that it is right otherwise you can leave the circle blank in the answer sheet.
